Voltarc® Hyde® Glass Working Equipment Fire Settings

*Gas heating values are measured in British thermal units (Btu) per cubic foot.
The Btu content of the two most common gases used today are:
bullet

Natural Gas 1040 Btu

bullet

Propane 2400 Btu

If other types of gas are used, check with your supplier for the Btu content.
To obtain Btu per hour, multiply the Btu value times the Gas Volume (cubic feet per hour as shown in the following table).

To ensure efficient operation, Hyde® Glass working equipment requires air and gas supplies of sufficient size to furnish the volumes and pressure shown above. The pressures shown should prevail at the burners.
A common cause of poor burner operation is the loss of gas and air volume and or pressure due to pipe lines of insufficient size. Hyde blowers and most gas meters are of the correct size, but small sized pipe lines to the burners causes incorrect pressure at the burners. Check air pressure and gas volume at each burner for proper operation. Consult your local plumber or gas company for assistance.

Hyde® needle valves, gas/ air mixers or venturi mixers are recommended for optimal fire setting of the burners.
